Hello, I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but.... My father wants to sail from Washington State to Hawaii via California, and then if all goes well, maybe to Vietnam. He's almost 60 years old, has NEVER sailed in the open ocean (but he has in Puget Sound), and has a 17 foot sail boat. Is it just me, or does anyone else think this might be a really bad idea? Please help, he wants to leave by the end of the week! Oh yeah, and he wants to do this alone!
