I recently purchased a 21' Luger Westwind with a centerboard keel. The sail boat is fitted with a spacious galley with sleep accomidations for 4. The brochure advertised the westwind as a family cruiser/daysailor that should only be used in shallow waters. I shall be sailing the bay. My exp. with fixed keel sailboats is extensive, but this centerboard creature is something I know little about. What should I be prepared for? And what are the benefits of such a device? Can you help?
