My engine is a Volva MD22, 4 cylinder, 59 HP and the transmission is a Volva Penta MS25A -A. I read that with some transmissions, the engine is turned off with the transmission in gear or the transmission can be put in gear with the engine off. I'm not sure of the procedure to be used with my power system. I also read with our Hydraligh 3 blade feathering prop, Model AA398118, the shaft must be stopped to allow feathering to reduce turning. Any help on the proper procedure to stop or reduce propeller shaft rotation when under sail. I don't want to damage my transmission and hope someone might have the answer.
