some friends and i are making our first trip "up delta" soon. still trying to get my hands on any useful materials to get acquainted with the area. any suggestions? i've got a couple of earle stanley gardener books... anyone want to chat with me about the possibilities? i have a lot of little questions and would love the opportunity to pick the brain of a delta know-it-all.

i'm wondering what kind of time i can expect it will take us to reach antioch from richardson bay. and whether the tule fog will stand in our way, and i'm still trying to wrap my head around the tide nuances. any favorite spots? how much area is reasonable to cover in a five-day trip? should we leave at slack tide and catch the start of the flood, or leave earlier and and pick up the flood further out? so many questions!

it's my first trip in my boat, so i guess i'm just trying to learn as much as i can.
